Site Description

Site Status SSSI and Part of the Heritage Coast
Description of Geodiversity Extensive disused quarry area revealing workings in the Alum shale member of the Whitby mudstone formation. Top of the quarry reveals exposures of massive Saltwick sandstone with sporadic exposures of the underlying Dogger formation
